PPP aids mobility of diabetic septuagenarian

THE People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has donated a motorised wheelchair to septuagenarian amputee Limattie Seodat, of Friendship, Corentyne.

She received the gift recently at a simple ceremony in the New Amsterdam branch office of the party, also in Berbice, following a request by family members of a community activist.

At the function, Chairman of Region Six (East Berbice/Corentyne), Mr. Zulfikar Mustapha, spoke in his capacity as a PPP executive.

He said the party was pleased to be of assistance in improving the mobility of the 74-year-old recipient.

Seodat, a widowed mother of four, is a diabetic who lost her right foot after being diagnosed five years ago.

Among the witnesses to the mid-morning gesture was Community Relations Officer in the Office of the President, Mr. Fizal Jaffarally.
