Bandits
shoot Hampshire man
Police
were last night scouring the backlands at
Hampshire, Corentyne, for three bandits who
shot a watermelon vendor from the
community.
Reports reaching Kaieteur News indicate
that the victim, Hansraj Samaroo, known as
‘Tiger’, was in his Russell Street,
Hampshire, home
around 21:00 hrs when the men, who were
armed with a ‘long gun’, invaded the
premises and shot him in his left groin.

robbers then fled the scene.
It is unclear whether they managed to
steal anything.
The wounded man was rushed to the New
Amsterdam Hospital, where his condition is
reportedly listed
as critical.
Police have received information
that the bandits fled toward the Hampshire
backlands. Up to press time, several TSU
ranks were in the area trying to locate
the suspects.
